On Thursday, October 8Th, Charlestown Elementary School will join schools and community groups all over the country reading The Very Hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carle. Reading for the Record will attempt to establish a new record for people reading the same children's book. This is our fourth year participating in this event which supports children's literacy, especially for at risk pre-schoolers who live without books in their homes.
The Very Hungry Caterpillar is a book that charms and intrigues children of all ages while giving teachers and parents ample opportunities to discuss nutrition and individual needs.
