Celebrate Dr Seuss on March 2nd






Tuesday is the 106Th birthday of Dr. Seuss, but NEA RI is celebrating this Saturday at Warwick Mall from 10 until 4 PM. There will be free books, guest readers, and activities for children.



On Tuesday Charlestown Elementary students will celebrate his birthday by reading his books, making rhyming words, and using their imaginations. This year along with all of our old favorites, like The Cat in the Hat, we will be reading Horton Hears the Who. Horton teaches us many lessons about kindness, friendship, and doing what we believe, no matter how difficult. Horton says it best in the story—"A person's a person, no matter how small."

Read Across America challenges every parent to read with a child on this special day. Listed below are sites with more Dr. Seuss activities, but remember the most important thing is to share a special Dr Seuss book with your child!!

The new Lakeshore Store in Cranston also has children's crafts and events planned for Saturday, February 27Th from 11 to 3PM. The store is located on Route 5 near the Warwick Mall.
